Increase the Comfort of your Loft

At Loftplan we love sharing new ways you can make the most of your new space.

With so many of us leading incredibly busy lives, our homes are a sanctuary where we can immerse ourselves in comfort and relaxation. That’s why it’s important to make sure your home is somewhere that you can truly turn into a getaway, and your loft conversion is no exception.

Here are some ideas on how you can turn your loft conversion into a relaxing, tranquil chill out spot:

Windows

Glazing windows is a technique that creates a much better living situation by simply adding a layer of inert gas in between to glass plates. By doing this, your window is now able to act as a sound barrier between you and the outside world. You’re more likely to relax without the bustling of cars or people walking past your house.

In addition to soundproofing, windows provide the natural light you need to instantly turn your home into an idyllic paradise. Big open windows are the easiest way to transform a dreary room, open the curtains and let the light flood in!

Fresh Air

The windows lead nicely on to fresh air. We often underestimate the effects that fresh air can have on our body. Allowing clean air to circulate around your home can allow you to breathe better and think clearer. Investing in a good dehumidifier is also a good idea – you’ll instantly feel the improvement it has around your space.

Plants

They don’t just look nice, plants are also surprisingly beneficial to your health too. They convert carbon dioxide into oxygen – naturally making the air around you purer. As we discussed above, clean air is important and sometimes overlooked.

The other health benefits of having plants scattered around your loft are that they prevent allergies and they decrease blood pressure. All this contributes to a more relaxed you and a comfier living space.

Floors

Whilst hard laminate floors can look nice, sometimes all you want is to walk barefoot on soft ground. If fully carpeting the room is too much, break up the hard floor with some indulgent rugs. Alternatively, under floor heating can be just as comfy and relaxing.
