We’d always dismissed a loft conversion thinking we’d lose a bedroom to accommodate the stairs, but after plans for a side extension were rejected we got Loftplan in for a design review after getting recommendations from friends.

Alan visited & was very knowledgeable, straightaway he said we would only have to move an internal wall 1ft to fit the stairs in over the existing flight & not lose the existing bedroom.

Everything moved very quickly once we got a start date, one day after the scaffolding went up Lewis & Dan turned up and got cracking immediately on the main structure. All the trades were lined up nicely to come in one after the other the next 6-8 weeks to get things ready for the stairs, plastering and 2nd fix team.

Alan the plumber & the electricians were very accommodating with any little extras you think of as things progress, like an extra socket/switch or radiator.

Big thanks to Bob & Kevin, who are the main points of contact on the structure & 2nd fix phases. Any concerns or issues that arose during the build they took care of swiftly.

We now have a spacious master, ensuite & office in the loft which has transformed the house. I only wish we’d done it sooner.
