Our loft conversion has created two new bedrooms and a bathroom to accommodate our growing family – I’d heard of Loftplan because they had converted a neighbour’s loft 20+ years ago!
The initial visit from Alan made some suggestions to improve the architectural design I had, giving us a higher ceiling and reduced impact from the new stairs on the second floor – a great start.
Everyone who worked on the project seemed supremely competent, professional, and cared about doing a good job – making suggestions based on their experience along the way with the decisions I needed to make.
To give you some idea of how it worked:
• Bob project managed the first fix – the core structure of the new loft.
• The work started with Warren and Jordan creating the Dorma and floor structure, who handed over to Grant and Dan to complete the interior structure. Along the way, Ron and colleagues installed the electrical cabling, Alan altered and created the new plumbing for the bathroom and radiators; and Jason and co sorted the roof. The last part of first fix involved the stairs going in and the plasterers giving us walls and ceilings we could paint.
• Kevin project managed the second fix – including doors, door frames, skirting, and stair railings, as well as the final electrical and plumbing. Martin did most of the carpentry and after I’d arranged tiling and flooring for the bathroom, Mark finished off.
The process of essentially constructing another floor isn’t quick, includes plenty of tea and coffee and was fascinating, and I’m so pleased with the result!
