Q. Can my loft be converted?

A. As long as there is a space of approximately 7'6" from the ridge to the apex, it is usually possible to convert a loft. However, through using our online enquiry form, we can arrange for one of our experienced surveyors to come and advise you on the best possible way to fully utilise your available space.


Q. What can I use my space for?

A. The possibilities are almost endless! As demonstrated in our gallery, Loftplan have created many different rooms, from bedrooms with en-suites, to nurseries, entertainment rooms or home offices with Dormer or Velux; the use of the available space is entirely your decision. Q. How can I obtain a quote?

A. Through filling in our online enquiry form or ringing our freephone number located at the bottom of this page, we can arrange for one of our surveyors to come and visit you. After we have properly assessed your property, you will shortly receive an in depth, free no obligation quotation.


Q. What will a sales appointment consist of?

A. A sales appointment can be arranged at your convenience, whether daytime, evening or weekend. You will be requested to provide a light and a ladder so that our surveyor has access to your loft room. In this appointment you will have the opportunity to convey your ideas and requirements whilst also being offered expert advice regarding your future loft room. With this information we can then construct a specific quotation which you will receive shortly after the appointment.


Q. Can I view a completed conversion?

A. Yes, we are more than happy to arrange a visit to a previously completed loft conversion. Please contact us on our freephone number in order to arrange a viewing.


Q. How much will a Loftplan conversion cost?

A. The price will be determined by numerous factors, such as the size of your loft and the various features included. Our quotations are in depth and carefully calculated, covering all stages from design to completion. Q. Will I receive a guarantee?

A.Yes, all Loftplan conversions, upon completion, are granted a free ten year guarentee.


Q. Will a Loftplan conversion add value to my property?

A. Although there are numerous market related factors that influence the added value, the addition of a loft conversion will typically add a significant value to a property. Q. Will I receive any after completion service?

A. Yes - at Loftplan, we provide a full customer orientated service. We will be more than happy to attend to any queries you have or any situations that may arise after completion. And with our ten year guarantee, you can be assured that your loft conversion is in safe hands for years to come.


Q. How long does a conversion take?

A. A job typically takes between 6 and 8 weeks, but the precise time is largely dependant on the size of the loft and other property specific factors. We can give a clearer indication of the time it would take to convert your loft by arranging for one of our designers to come and visit you.


Q. Do Loftplan build staircases?

A. Yes, we provide custom built staircases built in our own workshop. The spindles can also be designed to match your existing staircase exactly if required.


Q. Will I need planning permission?

A. If your property has permitted development rights, then planning permission is not required. In all other instances, however, it is necessary to obtain planning permission from the local council.


Q. Will I need building regulations?

A. Being a major work, all loft conversions require building regulation from the local council.


Q. Who will correspond with the local officials?

A. Loftplan will carry out all necessary correspondence with the local council, including obtaining planning permission and building regulations.


Q. Can I use my own plans?

A. Yes, Loftplan can undertake work from existing plans if required.


Q. Is the undertaken work insured?

A. Yes, Loftplan Ltd is fully insured for all necessary work.


Q. Will the work be fully supervised?

A. We have a highly experienced team of supervisors who are onsite regularly to monitor the progress of our installation teams. Our supervisors will make every effort to interact with and accommodate the needs of the client at every stage of installation.


Q. Can a trussed rafter roof be converted?

A. Yes, through using our modern techniques we can convert trussed rafter roofs.


Q. Can you convert timber frame buildings?
